Introducing Alberta Social Innovation (ABSI) Connect!

Hello! Welcome to the ABSI Connect blog!

This blog will be stewarded by a team of social innovation investigators on a mission to bridge and amplify social, economic and ecological impact initiatives that are successfully shifting the status quo in Alberta and transforming the way we forge solutions to our province’s most complex challenges.

What do we mean by social innovation?

Our understanding of social innovation is evolving, but a good place to start is Social Innovation Generation (SiG)’s introductory video:

Why a blog?

A critical part of our journey will be to develop a cohesive narrative that a) honours and brings together the various mapping work and progress already happening around various streams of social innovation in the province, and b) amplifies successful stories of transformational social impact initiatives currently operating throughout Alberta.

We are connected to a broad circle of funders, advisors, hosts and allies that are enthusiastically supporting the development of this emergent initiative. These leaders, innovators and advocates are a central force of the social innovation ecosystem in Alberta and we know there are more out there!

Looking forward to finding them, connecting and sharing their transformational narrative with you all!

Want to get involved?

We don’t want this to be a typical blog with posts coming from ABSI folks only - we want to hear from you! Guest writers/organizations with something to say about social innovation in Alberta are welcome and we encourage you to get in touch.

We also plan to publish our posts on other blogs with wide audiences of  social innovators, problem solvers and supporters. Know of a great blog or other platform where we should be heard? Please let us know.

Thanks for reading and connecting!

Signed,
